With a totally exclusive event that also brings a new milestone, on September 30, 2025, the new Ibiza hyper club [UNVRS] hosted the awards ceremony of the Top 100 DJ Mag 2025.
It is a milestone because for the first time the Top 100 DJ Mag was celebrated in Ibiza, the mecca of Dance music. Many surprises this year, starting from the podium to the many new entries in the chart.
In third place, we find Alok, the Brazilian DJ producer who has had an unmatched rise in recent years. He climbs one position compared to 2024 and reaches the lowest step of the podium. Martin Garrix, former world #1 DJ, ranks 2nd, giving up the crown for 1st place to David Guetta. For the Frenchman, this is a historic victory because it makes him the 3rd DJ with the most #1 placements in the Top 100 DJ Mag, now alongside Armin Van Buuren and Martin Garrix, both already crowned 5 times. David Guetta was first named #1 in 2011, then again in 2020, 2021 and 2023.
He stated he wants to remain at the top and has over 50 tracks ready for release. The trend of back-to-back releases will therefore continue, without even the chance to fully enjoy one…
David Guetta performed for two hours during the awards ceremony at UNVRS, the same place where he brought his Galactic Circus format throughout the summer.
Among the secondary awards, Armin Van Buuren, who this year climbs one position (#5), also took home the awards for Trance DJ N1 in the world and the Outstanding Contribution Award.
Among the new entries in the chart this year: Michael Bibi (48), Hugel (54), Lilly Plamer (57), Nico Moreno (67), PAWSA (69), ARTBAT (73), Miss Monique (75), I hate models (79), Chris Stussy (81), but also Fantasm (93), Nils Van Zandt (98), and Marlon Haffstadt at position #100.
Anyma is the highest-ranked Italian (7), Charlotte de Witte (9) is the highest-ranked woman. Solomun (55) is the DJ who gained the most positions, 33. Meanwhile, VINAI are the ones who lost the most, dropping 42 spots.
Personal considerations: Guetta’s first place this year leaves us perplexed. True, his shows are incredible, the amount of releases is immense, and most of them are banger hits, but there is someone who continues to deliver epic performances in his shows and whose releases are true gems: we are talking about Martin Garrix, second only to Armin Van Buuren. In our humble opinion, he deserved the crown again this year. In that case, it would have been his 6th time as world #1. But so be it.
