Among the many unforgettable moments from the first weekend of Tomorrowland, one of the biggest surprises was undoubtedly Martin Garrix’s brand-new collaboration with U2, “Fireflies”.
This isn’t the first time Martin Garrix has teamed up with the legendary Irish band. Back in 2020, Garrix joined forces with Bono and The Edge to release “We Are The People”, the official anthem of UEFA EURO 2020 (read our article here).
Now, Martin Garrix has delivered one of the most emotional moments of Tomorrowland 2026. During his highly anticipated Mainstage headline performance on Friday, July 17, the Dutch DJ and producer unveiled “Fireflies”, his brand-new collaboration with U2, for its worldwide premiere.
Making the debut even more special was the appearance of The Edge, the iconic guitarist of the Irish rock band, who joined Garrix on stage for the track’s first-ever live performance.
At the time of writing, “Fireflies” has no official release date. However, several rumors point to Friday, July 24 as the most likely release day. As always, we’ll keep you updated through our Best of Today #Release.
Martin Garrix has already delivered some huge collaborations this year, including “Repeat It” with Ed Sheeran and “Bizarre” alongside Madonna, both of which were featured during his Tomorrowland set.
