Moby & Armin Van Buuren, the ‘Extreme Ways’ remake played at Ultra

Extreme Ways is the collaboration between Armin Van Buuren and Moby, previewed at this year’s Ultra Music Festival in Miami (exclusive video).

We still remember our amazement at seeing the intro of Armin’s DJ set at the last Ultra. “Hey, that’s Moby!” Yes, exactly. His face and voice were featured behind Armin Van Buuren, blending with the sounds of modern Trance. One of the countless IDs played by the master was Extreme Ways, which is now finally available. Extreme Ways was the second single from Moby’s album “18,” released in 2002. To date, speaking only of Spotify streams, this track is the most played with over 130 million streams.

Armin has always been a big fan of the American producer and stated:

I’ve been a massive fan of Moby for a long time. We even used to DJ at festivals together, and I’ve been wanting to work together for years”,

But the spark ignited when:

“So when I heard that unbelievably iconic closing song again while rewatching the Bourne movie series, I just needed to work on it no matter what. I’m so over the moon with releasing this record, and I hope I’ve done Moby and my fans proud”.

And here we are, Extreme Ways lives again in a modern key 22 years later thanks to the sound and idea of one of the most important contemporary producers ever. Thank you, Armin!
