The first release of the year from John Summit arrives right on the heels of the announcement of his first-ever residency in Ibiza, but this time it comes with a very different flavor compared to what we’re used to.
We also introduced it on our radio show Best of Today #Release #341, and now it’s time to talk about it in more depth. LIGHTS GO OUT, this is the name of John Summit’s new track, sounds raw, fast, and packed with trap elements. Forget the smooth and emotional sound of Shiver or Where You Are: with this release, John Summit opens a brand-new musical era.
And that’s not all. On social media, he has just announced that he will be releasing a new track “every other Wednesday” until the completion of his new album. The #funfact is that in his Instagram post, Summit explains the reason why he chose to release the track on a Wednesday instead of the traditional release day (Friday).
“as a former accountant i know how much hump days suck so i decided im gonna release a new single every other wednesday til the album drops.. happy hump day fam ✌️”
In short, to “improve” Wednesdays—which are usually kind of meh days—John Summit decides to release new music. We’re extremely curious to hear what other bombs the American DJ and producer is about to drop, and we’ll try to feature them on our radio show as well.
For now, LIGHTS GO OUT is definitely not disappointing at all, and we can’t wait to see his closing act at the upcoming Ultra Music Festival 2026 in Miami.
