For this year, and now in its second edition, the Top 10 Chart by EDM Lab returns with what we believe are the most beautiful tracks of 2024. We remind everyone that this is a very personal ranking, influenced by our tastes, what we’ve heard on the radio, and the playlists we’ve listened to throughout this year that is now coming to an end.
Let’s dive into this musical journey with us. Listen to the podcast or read our article ⬇️

#10. Vintage Culture – Find a Way (May 10, 2024)
Brazilian DJ and producer Vintage Culture continues to ride the wave of success, just like his fellow countrymen. At this moment in history, Brazil’s electronic music movement is more active than ever, delivering only high-quality music. Vintage Culture is probably one of the most significant artists of this movement, having become a pillar of EDM in recent years. He has headlined the world’s biggest festivals, and attending one of his shows is truly a life-changing experience. We had the chance to catch him in Ibiza this summer, and it was absolutely epic. For 2024, he delivered an album full of masterpieces titled ‘The Promiseland’, featuring ‘Find a Way,’ which landed at #10 on our year-end chart.
#09. Tom Westy – Terminal 1 (March 15, 2024)
He is the only non-mainstream artist in our 2024 Top 10 Chart, but with a track like the one we’re about to present, he undoubtedly deserves his spot. A blend of progressive and UK house influences tells a beautiful story. We’re talking about ‘Terminal 1’ by Tom Westy, a track that, as often happens, was born during a long layover in an airport as this DJ traveled the world to share his music. The instrumental version of this track was posted on Tom’s social media and quickly went viral. This sparked a search for the perfect vocal, answered by Julia Church, one of the best vocalists in the recent dance music scene. And so, magically, ‘Terminal 1’ by Tom Westy and Julia Church came to life. It sounds like a fairytale, we know, but that’s the reality, and we loved this track so much that it earned a place in our annual chart.
#08. Adam Port, Orso, Malachii, Stryv – Move (June 7, 2024)
The next track in our year-end chart likely represents the rebirth of the Afro-House movement. It was created by a collective of artists who call themselves Keinemusik. Based in Berlin, they engage in many artistic expressions, not just music. The name Keinemusik not only identifies this collective but also serves as a music label that has been active since 2009. The sound of Keinemusik is electronic and underground, but heavily influenced by Afrobeat and, more recently, Afro-House. ‘Move’ went viral, becoming one of the most-played tracks at major festivals. Between YouTube and Spotify, the track by Keinemusik, alongside Orso and Malachii, has amassed an impressive 400 million streams and caught the attention of international pop stars. This even led to a reworked version featuring the voice of Camila Cabello, which we also presented in our radio show a few months ago.
#07. Calvin Harris ft. Ellie Goulding – Free (July 26, 2024) (Article)
There was much talk of a trilogy, but these two artists decided to go further and collaborate for a fourth time. We’re talking about Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding, who have delivered the anthem of Summer 2024. ‘Free’ is literally a hymn to life. The track follows the trend Calvin had already embraced with the previous trilogy: the “speed” or UK House sound.’Free’ has spawned countless remixes, and among the official versions, there’s truly something for everyone, across all musical genres. Calvin Harris had only two releases this year: the first was ‘Lovers in a Past Life’ with Rag’n’Bone Man, and then ‘Free’ with Ellie Goulding, which marks their fourth successful collaboration. We sincerely hope it won’t be their last!
#06. Sonny Fodera, D.O.D ft. Jazzy – Somedays (July 26, 2024)
We’ve spoken many times about these artists on EDM Lab simply because they consistently release quality music. On one side, you have Australian producer Sonny Fodera, a main figure in the house music scene of recent years. On the other side, you have Jazzy, one of the most captivating voices in the European Dance scene. Together with the ever-wise D.O.D, they’ve delivered a radio-friendly track that you could listen to endlessly without ever getting bored. To be completely honest, the track didn’t achieve massive success in terms of streaming numbers. However, it made a strong entry into radio charts and has remained there ever since. For us, that means a lot, as we introduced it during our radio show “Best of Today #Release”. From that moment, it won a special place in our hearts, earning the #6 spot in our chart.
#05. Mr Belt & Wezol – It’s Not Right but It’s Ok (February 23, 2024)
This is the only track in our Top Ten Chart that isn’t an original release but rather a remake. However, as EDM Lab’s golden rule states, “When a remake is done well, it’s always welcome.” That’s why we consecrate Mr Belt & Wezol’s release as one of the most beautiful tracks of the year! Their remake of Whitney Houston’s ‘It’s Not Right but It’s Ok’ is a masterpiece: melodic, radio-friendly, catchy, and simply perfect. The original track dates back to 1998, featured on the album “My Love Is Your Love”. We know this next statement might ruffle some feathers, but this is our honest opinion: this version by the Dutch duo is better than the original! Yes, it may be very similar, but it represents the perfect evolution, a modernized take on an already brilliant track. Mr Belt & Wezol managed to capture the soul of this song, securing their place among the great producers of this new musical decade, even though they were no rookies before this release.
#04. Martin Garrix, Sem Vox – Gravity (October 18, 2024)
For this position, we return to the “EDM” sound, understood as the original progressive style of this genre. We do so with ‘Gravity’ by Martin Garrix. The young Dutchman, named the world’s #1 DJ for the fifth time this year, chose quality over quantity. Unlike some of his colleagues, he released only a handful of tracks and EPs, all of absolute quality. This ‘Gravity’ with Sem Vox was highly anticipated by fans since its first play at the Ultra Music Festival earlier this year. Here’s a little fun fact: few people know that Sem Vox’s vocal for ‘Gravity’ was first teased back in September 2023 by Armin van Buuren during one of his last sets at Ushuaïa in Ibiza. During that set, Armin mashed up the vocal with the track ‘Used To Know’ by 7 Skies, unintentionally revealing something unknown at the time. ‘Gravity’ is a progressive house masterpiece that solidifies Martin Garrix as the king of this genre, which is sadly fading away. He proudly carries its flag and continues to gift us with incredible tracks like this one.
#03. David Guetta & Alesso – Never Going Home Tonight (Article) (September 6, 2024)
On the third step of the podium, we couldn’t help but find him: the DJ/producer who, more than anyone else this year, has released music non-stop: David Guetta. This time, he’s well-accompanied by Alesso for a track that deserved much more success in 2024 but didn’t achieve it for one simple reason: David Guetta released too many songs! There’s no time to appreciate one track before another comes out, and then another. However, there’s an interesting story behind this track. Like any iconic song, its premiere took place long ago. It was during EDC Mexico, around April this year when the track was first played and teased by the French DJ during his set, with no information attached. Speculation immediately began about the vocalist behind the (stunning) vocals. Many thought it marked Lana Del Rey’s return to EDM, while others suggested it could be Winona Oak. Only in September, when the song was officially released, did we discover the voice belongs to Madison Love, the American singer-songwriter who has worked with Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Camila Cabello. Madison’s beautiful voice gives this track a unique edge. Although it didn’t get the success it deserved, for us, it easily secured its place among the ten best tracks of the year.
#02. Swedish House Mafia ft. Alicia Keys – Finally (August 30, 2024)
Earlier, we mentioned that this chart features only one remake. That’s actually a half-truth because what we’re about to hear isn’t entirely original either — but it’s been completely reimagined. ‘Finally’ by Swedish House Mafia undoubtedly takes inspiration from Kings of Tomorrow’s 2001 classic, but here, it’s given a new and spectacular soul. It’s a true resurrection. Believe it or not, it took two years for this track to see the light of day. From its first play in October 2022 to its official release, following a live premiere featuring Alicia Keys at Ushuaïa Ibiza during SHM’s residency, the song has gone through multiple versions during their Paradise Again tour. Finally, after a scorching summer, the track was released to the world, marking only the second release of the year for the Swedish trio. This confirms what we said earlier about Martin Garrix: fewer tracks, but of exceptional quality. As speculation and anticipation grow for a new SHM album, this “non-remake” secures the #2 spot among the best tracks of the year, at least according to us at EDM Lab.
#01. John Summit & Hayla – Shiver (February 14, 2024)
The rise of this artist — or rather, these artists, as they frequently collaborate — is simply unparalleled. Even more astounding is the quality of their productions: true gems that, in just a few years, have won over countless hearts. We’re talking about John Summit and Hayla, who claim the top spot in our Top 10 Chart. To be honest, there wasn’t much debate about this #1 position. ‘Shiver’ is a masterpiece, and it will go down in history. Both artists have released albums this year. John Summit’s ‘Comfort in Chaos’ includes not only ‘Shiver’ but also tracks like ‘Where You Are’, ‘Go Back’, and other hits. Hayla, on the other hand, released her album ‘DUSK’ a few months ago. For us at EDM Lab, she is the most beautiful, intriguing, and distinctive voice of the year — one of those voices that gives you goosebumps. In ‘Shiver’, all of this magic comes to life. Here’s a fun fact about John Summit: this year, he ranked #1 on the Top 101 Producers list by 1001Tracklists, making him the most supported producer in the world — likely thanks to masterpieces like ‘Shiver’. There couldn’t be a better track to crown as the #1 song in our annual chart.
