You may be wondering why this article exists. Well, not only to introduce you to the first great release of the Dutch superstar, but also to jump straight back into the “race” for the most prolific DJ of the year, which we talked about a few days ago here.
Putting aside any subtle controversy, Armin van Buuren’s 2026 kicks off with a new collaboration alongside Glockenbach, a track that we also featured in our EDM Lab radio show episode #337. The latter is a masked producer who is not interested in revealing his identity, choosing instead to let the music speak for itself. The track is titled “Sun Shines On Me” and is filled with Rufus Du Sol-inspired vibes, both in the vocal and in the overall mood — something we really appreciate.
The track had previously been played as a #premiere by Armin at Tomorrowland Brasil and at Untold Dubai, followed by complete silence. However, considering how release-heavy 2025 was for Armin, dropping this record at the very beginning of 2026 feels like a smart move. And here we are with the first release of the year from the DJ we admire the most, who also secured the #1 spot in our Top 10 Chart of 2025.
