The boss Borgore has finally unleashed his highly anticipated 4th Album ‘CHIAROSCURO’ on Buygore. Decked out with a heavy bass and classic sounds, this Album tells in no uncertain terms that the renowned dubstep pioneer did it again but with new rhythms to step outside his normal zone evolution taking risks and experiment collabs with established producers.
Borgore production transports and sends out all kinds of emotions, between melodies, vocals and powerful bass, his style has been perfected and refined over the course of time, releases and the evolution of the genre and its sub-genres, to become what it is today, and these tracks represent it perfectly.
Once cut as a single, Capleton‘s participation in ‘BURN UP‘ was a success, Borgore brings the origins and the real old school dubstep in golden times, perfect drop, strong bass and vocals fit right for the fucking moshpit!
‘MUSIC IS FUN‘ really is loud! ‘PARANOIA‘ sounds Like A Mixture Of Hardtrap x Dubstep. For other side collaboration with Whales, has the signature Borgore sound!
Tracks like ‘MUCHO CA$H‘ with Argentinian producer and ‘303’ are not perfect, but they have some interesting original and insane parts. The problem is that when non-sample vocals appear, the album falls apart a bit. What about ‘EULOGIES’? drop comes late to save the day, but it doesn’t change the disappointing atmosphere set by the terrible vocals. Will people perceive ‘BENADRYL’ as kitschy?
With a preference for the track “Pain“, which is at once powerful, melodious and colorful, but darkens at times with the piano ending. The second half of the album may make the listener feel sleepy depending on their condition. Some tracks deserve extended versions as others are only well under 2 minutes!
But in any case, this album is, in our opinion, a great success. Whether for old fans looking for a bit of nostalgia, or for new fans of the genre. Let you discover the album!
