Alesso is one of the strangest artists in the EDM scene. With a unique sound that has developed over time, he has earned a place of honor in the DJ Olympus. This is despite the fact that his career, which began over 10 years ago, originally positioned him as one of the major pioneers of the Progressive House genre.
Today, with every release, we all hope it will be a Progressive track, but most of the time, it’s not. We’ve come to terms with it, and to be honest and understanding, we also recognize the Swedish artist’s growth and (probable) artistic choices. In any case, Alesso remains one of our favorite artists and one of the leading figures of the EDM era. No doubt about it.
But where has he been? His last release, also featured in Best Of Today #Release 280, dates back to October 25, 2024. Before that, he launched his new label BODY Hi. But then, complete silence, even on social media.
The cancellations of some tour dates and a later statement on social media clarified the situation: Alesso has not been in the best health, which often happens to artists who have to perform many shows worldwide while also finding the time and energy to focus on music production. Specifically, one morning, he woke up with a loud noise in his ears and started suffering from tinnitus. So, his doctor advised him to take complete rest. That explains his absence from shows, releases, and even social media in recent times.
Alesso himself reassures us that things seem to be getting a little better now, and we couldn’t be happier for him. We’re waiting for his return! This year, we won’t see Alesso at Tomorrowland, but he will be on the lineup for Ultra Music Festival in Miami. And while our beloved Swede recovers, we eagerly await new music.
