This is the debut single from Avicii’s album ‘True’, which, as we all know, features vocals that have become an anthem by Aloe Blacc.
Wake Me Up, which now has over 2.7 billion streams on Spotify alone, was one of the first examples where Tim mixed folk, country, and dance music into one magical genre: the Avicii sound. In 2013, Wake Me Up was the fastest-selling single in the UK with 267,000 copies. In 2015, it became the most shazamed song ever, with over 20 million searches.
It became a real Dance anthem and today it’s considered an evergreen track.
Wake Me Up by Avicii is also included in the posthumous album “Avicii Forever”, which we talked about here some time ago. While we still dream about hearing new music from the late Avicii, we celebrate the anniversary of this Dance music milestone.
