The new album by Paul Kalkbrenner, titled The Essence, will be released on October 10. It is a 12-track LP created over several years without a fixed plan, with the intention of going back to the purest form of musical expression, something that feels more essential than ever today.
The announcement comes together with the release of the first single, “Ninety-Two”, which we presented last week in our Best of Today #Release. This track includes a vocal sample taken from classic UK rave compilations: a clear tribute to a sound that never really disappeared.
For now, the full album tracklist has not been revealed yet, but the artist promises some surprises that will be shared in the next months.
Paul Kalkbrenner remains a unique figure: a cult icon, headliner at the biggest festivals, and star of the movie Berlin Calling (2008). From that film came the famous “Sky and Sand”, still one of the most streamed German electronic tracks of all time.
