We have already expressed our opinion many times about this format so well-established. Armin confirms to be the brilliant diamond both of EDM field and of this one, referring to the radio world, with very few competitors.
Whether you may dislike the DJ or the whole genre, you cannot question his work, career, and results. A superior entity (because you cannot define him just a simple man!) who actually manages to remain on the cutting edge, able to innovate, amaze, and create, well: a myth of electronic music of all time.
Episode number 1000 of A State of Trance would have been celebrated in a completely different way. You know that episodes 700, 800, 900 brought to world tours, appearances at the most important music festivals of the world and other projects which just Armin with his team managed to realize so far, but episode 1000 was the unluckiest one, due to the tragic pandemic which surrounds us since almost a year. Anyway, Armin does not fall.
5 hours of an exclusive radio show, completely in LIVE streaming worldwide, on all the streaming platforms, reaching crazy numbers such as over 70 thousand users who simultaneously watched ASOT 1000. During the episode, which was 100% mixed lively in streaming by Armin (such a genius of radio shows!), there was also a Zoom live call to interact from all over the globe.
Episode #1000 talks about 20 years of Trance music in a chart of 50 tracks that collects the essence of the genre: from Robert Miles’ Children to Adagio for Strings passing through Man On The Run, Waiting, Shivers (that is at the #1 position) and other Trance masterpieces such as Above & Beyond’s Saving Light and Sun & Moon. ASOT 1000 ends as it begins: amazingly. In fact, together with his reliable partner Ruben de Ronde, Armin breaks the radio silence: puts the vinyl of track #50 of his chart on the turntable, puts down the needle, and starts the magic of his special ranking. In the same way, he ends with disc #1 interviewing shortly before Susana, the famous Shivers’ voice. We remember all this live!
He chooses to celebrate the target with a double CD containing 108 tracks coming out on the next 5th of February, which can be pre-ordered. But surprises have not finished yet: Armin announces he will celebrate episode #1000 on the next 3 and 4 of September at Utrecht. It will be a unique weekend that will let relive the past of Trance music during the former night, and during the latter, its future instead. It is known as a “One Time Only” to which you cannot be absent (tickets in advance from the end of January 2021).
To conclude ASOT 1000, throwing in a little jab, Armin announces live to the world that ASOT will not finish its path but will go on forever, and also for this one, together with his team, will launch a special web radio; a format 24/7 on YouTube, during which it will be possible to revive the best Armin’s DJ sets, exclusive charts and many 100% Trance contents!
