If you’re a fan of Carl Cox, The Sims, or Second Life, you’re in luck. Sensorium Galaxy is a new multiplayer social virtual reality platform. Cox has teamed up with Sensorium to take their world-class performances to the next level virtually and uniquely. Using real-world motion capture, Sensorium will create a virtual performance of Cox, who will play an exclusive DJ set for the music world from a platform called PRISM.
Cox said of the collaboration:
“I am delighted to join Sensorium Galaxy as they have taken online communication and entertainment to the next level,”
“This exciting platform allows you to try new things and share interesting moments with people no matter where they are. Sensorium Galaxy is preparing to revolutionize the way people communicate in today’s environment while allowing them to enjoy music and art online. ”
Their association was helpful, of course, because now virtual DJ sets are in the limelight in the vast socially estranged music scene. The platform will be compatible with most of the leading brands of virtual reality headsets and will be available on PC, Mac, Android, and iOS devices. The public release is scheduled for the first half of 2021.
“Carl Cox is one of the first internationally renowned DJs to join this platform soon.”
said Yann Pissenem, co-author of the PRISM project and creator of leading nightclubs such as Hï Ibiza and Ushuaïa Ibiza. “He is an icon of the electronic music scene, an artist who always strives to progress, someone who understands the enormous opportunities offered by new technologies, including virtual reality, to build an expanded entertainment base and a new era of communication that will allow artists to embody all their creative ideas “.
