Alesso & Ryan Tedder – In Your Eyes: a return to the golden era of EDM

Today we’re talking about a record that, maybe not right away but certainly with time, could bring a tear to your eye. The new collaboration between Alesso and Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic has finally arrived. And suddenly, it feels like we’re back in the glorious EDM years of the 2010s.

in your eyesIt’s called “In Your Eyes” and was teased a few days ago on the social channels of both Alesso and Ryan Tedder, although the project had reportedly been in the works for at least a year. For longtime fans, this is a true reunion: the third official collaboration between the two artists following the milestone releases Calling (Lose My Mind), in its iconic 2012 version featuring Tedder’s vocals, and Scars, released in 2015 as part of Alesso’s album Forever.

Hold on! Before anyone jumps into the comments asking, “What about If I Lose Myself?” let’s make one thing clear. That track was originally released as a song by OneRepublic before receiving Alesso’s now legendary remix treatment. A remix that, for many progressive house fans, became even more iconic than the original version itself. And yes, just thinking about it still gives us a healthy dose of nostalgia.

Back to In Your Eyes, the new single takes a slightly more pop-oriented and contemporary approach compared to the classics that came before it. Then again, more than a decade has passed since the first collaborations between these artists, so some evolution in sound was inevitable. That said, the track remains firmly rooted in melodic progressive house, a genre that seems to be enjoying a fresh resurgence throughout 2026.

Of course, being the nostalgics that we are, we’d love to hear a more dreamy and dancefloor-focused version as well. That’s why, despite the track having just been released, we’re already hoping for a future “Alesso Remix” or, why not, an unexpected “Axwell Remix“.
