A whole year of music is coming to an end, once again confirming the importance of Dance music on the global scene, even 15 years after the rise of the new EDM culture. 2025 has been an exceptional year from a musical point of view. Yes, maybe we already said the same thing in last year’s Top 10, but that’s how it works when you only deal with new music: you never know what comes next, which new record will become a hit and which one will just fade away.
And yet, 2025 gave so much to dance music, and we really didn’t expect it!
2025 was the year of the return to melody, after a long phase of musical uncertainty made of hard basslines, tech house modernisations, slap house disasters, and the usual remakes of 90s records. In 2025, we saw the consolidation of genres like afro house, a worthy replacement for the ragga&ton sound that has been invading charts and warm-up sets all over the world for years. We also witnessed the definitive explosion of the Melodic House / Techno genre, which went viral and gave many DJs the chance to step back into the spotlight after a declining phase in recent years. There was also the UK House movement, interesting and capable of filling dance radio playlists once again. But what did we say at the beginning? 2025 was the year of the return to melody, and melody in EDM means many things, but above all, Progressive House, and we heard a lot of it throughout this year. Many artists openly declared their desire to return to a melodic and epic sound. After all, there is always a need to travel with both heart and mind. All the genres mentioned above are exactly what we will bring you in our selection of ten tracks that sum up this 2025.
DISCLAIMER: This is our personal selection, based solely on our taste, our perception of music around the world, and what we experienced by attending festivals and listening to radio worldwide. This is the EDM Lab Top 10 Chart of 2025.

10. Topic & Daecolm – Control Of Me
We start from the lowest step of this chart to talk about an artist who, right at the beginning of the musical decade we are living in, completely changed everything with his radio-friendly sound. Topic, yes, we are talking about him. Over the years, hit after hit, almost always radio-driven, he earned a place among the DJs that truly matter. Then, with some clever moves, he decided to release fresh remakes, and to reach the present day—when it was also time for him to follow a musical trend—he chose one in particular: afro house. To do this, he teamed up with a worthy collaborator, Daelcom. Back in 2024, the two already released “I Adore You”, a track with over 150 million views on YouTube, so what better opportunity for a follow-up? Here it is: “Control Of Me”, a literally hypnotic track that, with its smooth sound, found its way into many hearts. The two tracks mentioned, “I Adore You” and “Control Of Me”, share the same structure, similar vocals, and the same mood. For us, Control Of Me by Topic & Daelcom fully deserves the tenth place in our Top 10 Chart and helps us celebrate the Afro House genre that was so popular this year.
09. Joel Corry x Abi Flynn – Phases
Here we find another artist who can now be considered a new king among those who really matter: Joel Corry. An artist capable of releasing around ten tracks in 2025 alone, between remixes and original productions. But above all, he has been able to explore different shades of EDM, from radio-friendly sounds to more club-oriented ones. In 2025, Joel Corry delivered UK House, Tech House, Melodic House tracks and several remakes, but one track in particular, an original one, really touched us. We’re talking about his collaboration with Abi Flynn, “Phases”, released in September. “Phases” is the perfect radio airplay track, the kind you can keep in rotation for months without ever getting tired of it. With its 90s Trance-inspired mood, the flawless vocals of the young English artist—already heard on D.O.D records—and its simple, fast, and melodic structure, it never becomes boring. “Phases” is yet another proof of how the sound coming from the UK continues to influence the charts, constantly renewing itself year after year while keeping its energetic soul.
08. Avicii – Let’s Ride Away (Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman Remix)
Now we need to make space for memories and talk about a great artist. Even if this track is not one of his absolute best works, it deserves to be in this special chart, if only to remember the genius behind it. Yes, we’re talking about Avicii and his Let’s Ride Away. Written in 2017 by Tim and Kacey Musgraves, the track was never completed. Only this year, possibly in connection with the release of the posthumous album “Avicii Forever”, producer Carl Falk picked up the production again, completed the mix and mastering, and entrusted the vocals to a new singer, Elle King. The result brought back to all of us the memory of the genius that Avicii was. In Let’s Ride Away, once again, we can feel the discomfort Tim was experiencing during those years: his desire to escape, to find freedom and a place in the world, but also a sense of adventure and hope. Let’s Ride Away keeps alive the memory of an artist who gave everything to Dance music and whom we will never forget. To celebrate this track in our Top 10 of 2025, we chose the remix version by Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman, but there were other remixes as well, including one by MEDUZA.
07. David Guetta – Beautiful People (D.O.D Remix)
We have reached position #7, and it’s time to give space to the 5-times #1 DJ in the world, David Guetta. More than twenty releases in 2025 alone: remixes, remakes, singles, sold-out shows everywhere. David Guetta is, without a doubt, the commercial artist who best represents Dance music worldwide. And it’s not just the ranking where he was #1 five times that says so, but his constant musical presence everywhere. Radio charts, playlists, clubs, festivals—he’s everywhere. You barely have time to fully listen to one of his tracks before a new one is already coming out. Yes, we’ve said it many times: this is a bit too much even for us, who live on new music every single day, but this is his vision. An artist this prolific and this cross-genre has never been seen since the birth of the EDM era. At the beginning of the year, however, right around his return to Ultra Music Festival, he declared that he wanted to go back to doing something epic beyond endless remakes. And so he brought SIA on the Ultra stage, the iconic voice of “Titanium”, and introduced “Beautiful People”. Musically speaking, the track may feel like one among many in today’s liquid music landscape, but it surely brings us back to the golden era of early EDM. To celebrate this release, we chose to let you hear the absolutely brilliant D.O.D remix.
06. Dom Dolla ft. Daya – Dreamin
We now dedicate our #6 spot to an artist we probably never expected to find in the Top 10. We’re talking about Dom Dolla. Don’t get us wrong—he’s a major player in the Dance scene, but not someone obsessed with delivering a worldwide hit. He focuses on doing fewer things, but doing them really well. We chose “Dreamin”, a track that feels like a club train: a rhythm derived from the techno sound that was very popular this year, and a vocal that violently sticks in your head. And do you know why we chose it? Exactly for that reason—it sticks in your head. But let us tell you a funny anecdote. We were in Miami for Ultra, and during the changeover between DJs (a brief moment of silence), people were moving from one stage to another. Suddenly, a guy caught our attention: out of nowhere, he started singing at the top of his lungs “Sunny days, it’s such a pretty place, I see your smiling face, woke up and now I think I’m dreamin’”. Maybe he was completely wasted, but he was happy, singing a track that wasn’t exactly mainstream. Dreamin left a mark on his mind and heart, and surely on everyone who, like us, later witnessed the epic b2b between Dom Dolla & John Summit at Ultra Miami. That’s why, at position #6 of our chart, we find Dom Dolla with Daya and their “Dreamin”. Yes, this time we stepped outside the more commercial lines.
05. Anyma ft. Ellie Goulding – Hypnotized
Among the main trends of 2025, as we said at the beginning, one genre dominated above all: Melodic House & Techno. Here we merge them without distinction. Anyma was undoubtedly the pioneer of this trend, even if to say that we have to go back before 2025. At the very start of this year, fresh from his residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas, where he premiered this track, Matteo Milleri, a.k.a. Anyma, announced Hypnotized, an epic collaboration with Ellie Goulding. This track breaks the club-focused soul that melodic techno had preserved until now and makes it more radio-friendly. Accessible to everyone, easy listening. All thanks to the masterful voice of Ellie Goulding, who once again delivers a major moment in Dance music while leaving pop behind. Hypnotized was the first real spark of 2025. Later on, the track was also remixed by John Summit and KREAM, but they couldn’t work miracles—the original version is unbeatable. Anyma released many relevant tracks throughout 2025, but for us, Hypnotized is his most iconic one.
04. AFROJACK, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Amél – Our Time
As we said several times during our radio show “Best of Today #Release”, this year Progressive House lived moments that had only existed during the golden years of EDM. This happened thanks to the already mentioned “return to melody” and those iconic synths that made the genre famous. Many artists dedicated themselves once again to creating an epic, dreamy sound, the kind that makes you sing and jump at festivals. For position #4, we chose a track that perfectly represents this genre and is made by some of its key figures. The track is “Our Time” by Afrojack, Martin Garrix, David Guetta & Amél. Four musical generations together, united by one shared love: Progressive House. A collaboration never seen before. Our Time was premiered at AMF 2024, followed by a long wait. Afrojack, who openly expressed his desire to return to this sound, said this track represents a shared artistic journey. And now, all of them are together in one single record. Already in July, when the track was first presented, we had already spoiled that it would enter the Top 10 of 2025. And here it is, at position #4: Afrojack, Martin Garrix, David Guetta & Amél with Our Time.
03. James Hype – Don’t Wake Me Up
We’ve reached the lowest step of the podium, and once again, we find a UK House track—another major trend of 2025. But above all, we find an artist who experienced an incredible rise. His early tracks, which we were already playing on our very first radio show over ten years ago, were small radio-friendly gems, not overly commercial. Then he found his path and became a true console monster. Who are we talking about? James Hype, of course. Between tech house tracks, remakes, and epic performances, James Hype has become a DJ set legend. His story is well known: from zero to one hundred in ten years, an incredible journey, almost a fairy tale. Speaking of his productions, always relevant in the global club scene, one track stood out this year. The record that represents his artistic maturity and gently tells the story of the dream he is living. “If you see me dreaming, don’t wake me up.” We loved this track from the very first listen, and we weren’t the only ones. It went viral the video showing James crying during its broadcast on BBC Radio 1 as a Hottest Record. A milestone many producers dream of, and one James reached with pure determination. At position #3 of our annual chart: James Hype with “Don’t Wake Me Up”.
02. Martin Garrix, Matisse & Sadko – Butterflies
Choosing position #2 was extremely difficult. Let’s be honest: compared to #1, where we clearly favoured names and personal preference, here a tear drops. We’re talking about real Progressive House, the kind that tears your heart apart. To understand this track, let’s go back to Tomorrowland 2025, or what was left after the massive fire that destroyed the mainstage. A few hours after the tragic event, something appeared on one of the excavators left behind the temporary mainstage. A butterfly. No one knew why. Maybe just an act of love in the middle of destruction. Then Martin Garrix played this track. It’s called Butterflies, a collaboration with Matisse & Sadko in pure Progressive House style. Premiered at AMF 2024 and later at Ultra Miami, the track carried an aura of mystery. Then it was played at Tomorrowland, right under that butterfly, and fans started connecting the dots of this puzzle. The official video explains it even better. Butterflies made us wait a bit longer, until one of Martin’s many residencies at Ushuaïa Ibiza, where it was played again and finally released at the end of September. This track gave us goosebumps like no other, made us cry, and carries the soul of another era. For us, it is the second most beautiful and important track of 2025.
01. Armin Van Buuren, Martin Garrix – Sleepless Nights
Yes, as already mentioned, this year the choice was hard. Even though the Top 100 DJ Mag crowned David Guetta as the world’s #1 DJ, for us, the real number one is someone else. He appears in three out of ten positions in this chart, and this time he teamed up with the supreme master Armin van Buuren. Yes, we’re talking about Martin Garrix once again. Premiered at Ultra Music Festival Miami, right in front of us and during the best set of the entire festival, this track, Sleepless Nights, is the purest form of collaboration between two artists who, in our opinion, are the best in the world. On one side, the wisdom of the Trance universe; on the other, Progressive passion. Everything blends into a track that feels unreal. Unexpected, epic, especially considering that Armin, who released a 51-track album this year, still found the energy to produce such a gem. Sleepless Nights comes close to perfection and represents a friendly battle between two of the best artists of recent years. Don’t agree? Try attending a Martin Garrix or Armin van Buuren show. There’s no competition. They are the undisputed number ones, beyond genre. Yes, we put a lot of our personal taste and artistic preference into choosing this #1 spot. But we had no doubts: Sleepless Nights is, for us, the best track of 2025.
