Over the last few years, we’ve seen documentaries, books, and even exhibitions dedicated to dance and electronic music culture. But now there’s a much more original project aiming to turn 60 years of electronic music history… into a board game.
It’s called Track Quest, a party card game created by Aulart, the educational platform known for its masterclasses with some of the world’s most important DJs and producers. Behind the project is also Marc Marzenit, a DJ and producer who has been deeply involved in electronic music culture for years.
The concept is simple but very intriguing: players must place music tracks in the correct chronological order by listening to audio clips and using hint cards, all while racing against the clock. From the underground clubs of the ‘70s to today’s global festivals and sounds, the game explores six decades of electronic music evolution. This from whole sphere of electronic dance music.
This “party game” element is a big part of the experience: during matches, opponents can sabotage players, steal cards or activate sudden timers to increase the chaos and make every round even more unpredictable.
Track Quest is not yet a finished product: the project is currently running on Kickstarter and will only go into production if it reaches its funding goal before the campaign ends. It’s an “all or nothing” format that makes community support absolutely essential.
For those who see electronic music not only as entertainment but also as culture and collective memory, Track Quest could become something truly unique. This could be a different way to rediscover artists, eras and tracks that shaped entire generations of clubbers and music lovers.
The Kickstarter campaign will remain online until June 1st, 2026, so there are still a few days left to support the project. For more information or to support it, here’s the official link.
