Following \u201cMove Your Feet,\u201d the collaboration that marked their debut on mau5trap<\/strong>, Chris Candela<\/strong> and AOSM<\/strong> return to deadmau5\u2019s label with their second joint release. The remix of \u201cShined On Me\u201d<\/strong>, released on July 31, 2026, came about through a direct invitation from the label and pushes the track by Nicola Fasano, Karl8 & Andrea Monta into a more club-focused and contemporary direction.<\/p>\n

The \u201cShined On Me\u201d remix came together in less than a week<\/h3>\n

Less than seven days, several discarded versions and a balance eventually found between Electro House, Bass House and Tech House influences. The stated direction draws inspiration from artists such as Matroda and Chris Lake, combining deep basslines, aggressive synths and melodic elements designed to give the track a stronger club impact. AOSM sums up the studio approach perfectly: \u201cstop overthinking and simply let the music flow\u201d<\/em>. The remix also received the personal approval of deadmau5<\/strong>, something Candela says \u201calways puts a smile on my face\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The remix is part of a six-track package. Alongside the 2026 version by Nicola Fasano, Karl8 & Andrea Monta<\/strong>, the release includes reworks by Penultimate, Low Mileage and Federico Scavo, as well as an Afro House Extended Mix. It is a fairly diverse package, with Federico Scavo arguably standing out as the most immediately recognisable name. Candela and AOSM, however, take a different route: while the other versions generally remain rooted in brighter, more melodic and house-driven territory, theirs heads somewhere darker, taking \u201cShined On Me\u201d deep into late-night club territory.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>For Crist\u00f3bal Delgado Candela<\/strong>, the Italian-Venezuelan producer who has been releasing music under the Chris Candela name since 2025, this marks his second release on mau5trap. Now based in Mallorca, he continues to balance music production, DJing and his work as the creator behind CDCVLOGS<\/strong>, a YouTube channel with more than 74,000 subscribers and a community built over the years around electronic music. With more than fifteen years of experience in the industry, Candela is also an FL Studio Ambassador and has received support from artists including Don Diablo and Fedde Le Grand. \u201cLost To The Rhythm,\u201d his collaboration with RE-KA, also reached No. 44 on Beatport\u2019s Bass House Top 100. AOSM, meanwhile, comes from Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and reunites with Candela following \u201cMove Your Feet.\u201d<\/p>\n

From a 2002 house classic to the \u201cShined On Me\u201d remix<\/h3>\n

To fully understand what Candela and AOSM are remixing, however, we need to go back twenty-four years. \u201cShined On Me\u201d originally arrived in 2002 as a track by Praise Cats feat. Andrea Love<\/strong>, a project led by Chicago house producer Eric Miller, better known as E-Smoove. Released through Subliminal Records<\/strong>, the track reached No. 1 on the UK Dance Singles Chart<\/strong> in October of that year and also charted across several European countries. It returned to the UK charts in 2005, while in Italy it also gained significant traction through the Bini & Martini remix.<\/p>\n

For us, it is the strongest remix in the package<\/h3>\n

If we had to pick one version out of the six, this is the one we would come back to. Not because it completely reinvents \u201cShined On Me,\u201d but because it makes the boldest change to the environment surrounding the vocal. The melodic side still provides a clear link to the track\u2019s past, while deep basslines<\/strong> and more aggressive synths<\/strong> create a contrast that sets it apart from the brighter character of the other remixes. Think less sunset by the pool, much more late night in a packed club. That distance from the starting point, without losing sight of the original, is exactly what makes it, in our view, the most interesting rework in the package.<\/p>\n

With new releases already lined up from August onwards, Candela is now looking to strengthen his presence across Spain<\/strong> and Europe<\/strong>, expanding his reach through clubs<\/strong>, festivals<\/strong> and new collaborations<\/strong>. His second appearance on mau5trap therefore arrives at the right time to turn the work built in the studio and online into an increasingly tangible presence across the European circuit.<\/p>\n
