In the (never-ending) era of remakes, we still stick to one rule: \u201cIf a remake is well done, then bring it on.<\/em>\u201d But we also believe that some tracks should never be touched. That\u2019s our personal opinion, of course, but we\u2019re pretty sure much of the global EDM community would agree.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re talking about the true classics of electronic music, whether legendary<\/strong> or more recent. No names for now. But every now and then, a heavyweight artist dares to \u201ctouch\u201d these masterpieces and tries the impossible: to refresh the sound, enhance it, and make a musical icon from the past shine once again.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s be clear: we\u2019re not talking about those overplayed classics remixed by David Guetta, with all due respect. We mean real milestones in electronic music<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

One producer who often takes on this challenge is John Summit<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Known for hits like Where You Are<\/a>, Shiver<\/a>, and the earlier Human<\/a>, in 2024, he boldly reworked Sweet Disposition<\/a>. The result? So good it made us dream again.<\/p>\n

A remake that hit #1 on the Beatport Chart<\/strong> in March 2024!<\/p>\n

And he didn\u2019t stop there. More recently, Summit took on another gem: Silence by Delerium. Originally released in 1997 on the album Karma and as a single in 1999, the track became a trance classic, thanks in part to the iconic Ti\u00ebsto remix (2000). As you can imagine, reworking a track like that isn\u2019t easy. But as we played in episode #304 of our Best of Today #Release<\/a>, John nailed it. Once again, he left us speechless<\/span>.<\/p>\n

But John Summit seems unstoppable. During a recent gig at Space Miami, he premiered yet another potential remake, this time of Missing<\/strong> by Everything but the Girl<\/strong>. One of the most beautiful tracks of all time. Need we say more?<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no official release date yet, it might even be a personal edit, but we seriously doubt it\u2019ll stay that way. One thing\u2019s clear: John Summit has shown, time and time again, that with talent and respect, even the \u201cuntouchable\u201d can come back to life.<\/p>\n
