We well remember that day, Friday, 1 February 2019. We had just released our Best of Today #Release that day<\/a> without including the track Piece of Your Heart<\/strong> by Meduza<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The question is clear: why didn’t we add it? Here, we reveal the story behind it.<\/p>\n

We usually research a lot of music before releasing our list. But this song did not exist anywhere, and so were MEDUZA<\/a>. The project was unknown, and it was difficult to understand who the artists behind the projects were. Who were they? Were they from England?<\/p>\n

… Just a few hours after releasing the list, we received the email containing the promo version of ‘Piece Of You Heart<\/em>‘ without specifying any details, if not that the most important international DJs had already supported it and that just played on BBC R1.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>As usual, we replied and asked for more information. They replied back that it was an official release; thus, we listened to the song. It is love after the first play. However, unaware of the mith that was just born<\/strong>, we were recording episode #5 of our radio show at the moment, so we decided to play the song anyway despite the lack of information<\/span>. It is fun to hear the song’s announcement during our radio show, but this can happen when you lack information on a record\/project; we apologize (link<\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n

In five years of our radio show and almost 300 episodes, we never played a song that was not previously introduced by our list. We usually are very rigorous, but “Piece of Your Heart” was something special, and we could not wait to get all the information before playing it. It was incredibly mysterious yet catchy.<\/p>\n

Why did we tell you all this history?\u00a0It has been a few days since\u00a0MEDUZA<\/a>‘s and\u00a0Goodboys<\/strong>‘ song officially entered the\u00a0Billions Club on Spotify,<\/em>\u00a0passing 1 billion streams<\/strong>.<\/span>\u00a0Surely, this did not happen thanks to our radio show<\/a> or our article<\/a>, but we were sure to have presented a song that then would have been so successful, a worldwide hit. <\/em>We now know the following story of this Italian group. Song after song, the three guys from Milan had made plenty of successes that still play worldwide until they became the most-listened-to Italian artists on Spotify.<\/p>\n

‘Piece of Your Heart’ was only the beginning of something special…<\/strong><\/p>\n
