Impossible or very difficult to believe, unacceptable on the level of intellect and musical judgment, “Baby Shark,” a song by the company Pinkfong, dethrone the record held by “Despacito” as the most-watched video in the history of Youtube.

The music video “Baby Shark” on the Youtube platform since June 17, 2016, reaches a milestone not too legal in the world of music by dethroning “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi, a song with a strong Latin component published on January 12, 2017.

But let’s stop for a moment: can such an unsuitable record hold such an important record? Many of us didn’t even like Despacito, but what can we say? The Latin culture is strong in the world; for decades now, the hit of Luis Fonsi has reached every corner of the planet, and although far from the EDM canons, it was a track worthy of reaching that coveted virtual trophy.

But Baby Shark?

A record for children, probably born without even the idea of grinding money and records – at least initially – then returned in partnership with the television brand Nickelodeon, which has based part of its programs on this motiv without ever giving up the bite on the audience; and again, the remix of Jauz? Born from a social challenge and arrived at mainstage del Coachella (Video Here)

Is everything real? Unfortunately yes.

Every day, we try to bring you the big names in EDM music, great works, and electronic masterpieces, records that are writing history, from Eric Prydz to Armin Van Buuren via the Swedish House Mafia or pop stars, but this is the real, hard, truth. We are a bit outraged, but maybe the question is: is it up to us to decide what should be the most-watched video? Certainly, we click to play!.

At the moment, “Baby Shark” has accumulated many views on Youtube equal to 7,072,734,831.
