The name sounds like a band but Tones And I is the solo project of Australian singer-songwriter Toni Watson, born in 1993. With “Dance Monkey” and the debut EP “The Kids Are Coming”, she is climbing the charts, even in the most influential countries such as USA and UK. The alternation between the bedroom-pop of the stanzas and the funky/electro of the refrain, represents a brilliant idea but without that vocal timbre that reminds us of our compatriot Sia, it wouldn’t be the same thing.
