The discography of The Avener is largely based on samples, and this is also the case for “ALPACA,” in which he reprises “Let It Whip” (1982) by the Dazz Band. It certainly won’t reach the top5 of the Billboard chart like the original, but we don’t exclude that it could be a good success, also aiming at the cinephile audience.
The track, in fact, had been reprised in the soundtrack of the film “Air,” in theaters since last March. “ALPACA” is a 6-handed work, together with the emerging Milanese duo White Shrts, rather akin to the French producer, in the use of house sounds with retro overtones.
