#Release | Purple Disco Machine, Kungs – Substitution

SubstitutionAmong Purple Disco Machine and Kungs there could have continued to be only a healthy rivalry in the charts, and instead they also chose to collaborate on the new single “Substitution.”

It is not surprising or even disdainful if they insist on their signature electro-disco sound. In particular, German Tino Piontek also has it in his moniker while his French colleague, on the other hand, was smart and wanted to go along with the revival with his latest album “Club Azur.” The sample of Alphaville’s “Big in Japan” (1984) in addition to appealing to nostalgic listeners, is part of the two producers’ full endorsement of the project, paying homage to a German band and having the video clip shot in Marseille, France.

Also in the credits of “Substitution” are a PDM loyalist namely fellow Turin-based Andrea Tirone aka Mind Enterprises and English singer-songwriter Julian Perretta.
