A bit on tiptoe, and without introducing it with too much hype, today, 5th February 2021, Martin Garrix publish “Pressure,” the new single signed with his primary alias. Among the fans, there was a big clamor. Either because it has passed several months since his last release and because this track is one of those that make the fans talk.
After the publication of the artwork, which occurred on Tuesday on his socials and those of STMPD RCRDS, here that today we can finally discover what taste “Pressure” has. This is a collaboration with the Swedish singer-songwriter Tove Lo, already famous to the EDM community for singing on the instrumental of “Heroes” by Alesso.
We can define this voice as sharp, charming, and mysterious. It perfectly fits with the unique and, partly, unusual sounds of the instrumental. An instrumental characterized by opaque, definitely groovy, and deep shades. With the vocal, it creates the right club atmosphere merging it in a fresh and innovator single. A slightly different direction both for Tove Lo and Martin Garrix, which, as regards innovation, follows the Ytram project’s footsteps.
So here is that the Dutch wonder, with “Pressure,” set the focusing of his 2021. What will be the next surprise? A “club-friendly” track or a “festival-friendly” track?
