Anyone who knows the artistic background of Diplo and Maren Morris would immediately have pictured the country version of their new single “42.”
She is a singer primarily associated with that genre, except for successful EDM collaborations with Zedd. He is the lead producer for Major Lazer and Silk City projects but also an experimenter with the collaborative country-trap album “Chapter 1: Snake Oil” from 2020, re-released with unreleased tracks just a few months ago.
Returning to “42,” the electro-house sound is more similar to Diplo’s recent tracks, and in the writing team, there’s also Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic.
