Avicii lives: death cannot defeat music.

In the last year, the world slowed a bit down. But music did not stop. Particularly, electronic music continues faster than ever. For the EDM community, 20 April is a sad anniversary. Indeed, today, we remember that day, 20 April 2018, when Tim Bergling, a.k.a. Avicii, passed away.

Since the previous anniversary, many events occurred:

  • One World Radio and Tomorrowland released a Top1000 chart with the greatest successes of electronic music. “Levels,” produced by our beloved, obtained the first place (read it here);
  • Early drafts of Avicii’s work are available to everyone thanks to the opening of a museum opened in Stockholm, entirely dedicated to Avicii (read it here);
  • TRUE, Tim‘s first album, celebrates seven years on 13 Settembre 2020. On this occasion, five unreleased bonus tracks were included in the album (read it here);
  • Finally, the release date of the official biography, written by Måns Mosesson, is available (read it here).

These are a few homages paid to Avicii during the previous year. His music keeps playing everywhere on the planet, inspiring new artists. “Wake Me Up” on Spotify shows 1.263.794.856 plays, making Avicii one of the few artists part of the “Spotify’s One Billion Streams” club (read it here).

Tim Bergling is the evidence that no barriers can stop music, not even those between life and death.
