10 TRACKS | Urban Room – 10 Mar 2019

The #10TRACKS urban rubric usually starts with a hit. This time, there is also a somehow disturbing story behind it. The 19-years old rapper YNW Melly released on Soundcloud “MURDER ON MY MIND” in 2017, where he tells about a homicide. Two years later, he got arrested with the accusation of having murdered two friends from his gang. The judiciary case is so loud that it made the track so viral to push it in the U.S.A. and U.K. Top20.

Less than a year from his debut, the 20-years-old emo-trapper Juice WRLD is already out with a second album.  This time we listen to “ROBBERY,” worth follow-up of “Lucid Dreams.”

The 20-years old Lil Pump is among the craziest in the Trap scene, and the video of “RACKS ON RACKS” confirms it. Sick beat produced by Diablo. Recommended.

Debut single and Top10 hit for the Californian 22-years-old Blueface, particularly in the version with the more experienced YG. – “THOTIANA”

Among the best tracks by Mariah Carey contained in the album “Caution,” we mention “A NO NO,” which a few months later becomes a single.

We cannot have a #10TRACKS without some Migos, even in their solo project. This time we suggest Offset with the introspective trap-song “RED ROOM.”

The English rapper 21Savage, who resides in the U.S. since his teenage, keeps collecting platinum records. Also, “A LOT,” with J Cole, confirms that he is among the audience’s most loved.

Staying in the U.K. for our rubric’s traditional Afrobeat moment, B Young is one of the best in the genre. This time we listen to him with “JUICE.”

He is considered a post-dubstep genius, James Blake. Also known for his magnetic vocal, he happily mixed his music with hip-hop, collaborating with the producer Metro Boomin and Travis Scott. – “MILE HIGH”

The last four tracks are all from British artists. Last but not least, Mahalia Burkmar, singer and actress who brings us to a clean sound that seems coming straight from the ’90s – “DO NOT DISTURB.”
