Royale, Boston, 23 March 2023. EDM Lab is invited to attend the Bostonian stop of the Little Love Tour by Elderbrook.
The calendar says that it is officially spring, just not in Boston. Indeed, the “city of the Tea Party” had one of its typical chill and windy nights far from the expectations for the season when the “Little Love Tour” by Elderbrook stopped in town.
Luckily, the Londinese author, musician, and multi-instrumentalist Alexander Kotz, aka Elderbrook, gifted the city with a tremendous performance. The city responded with much warmth (despite the weather), love, and appreciation.
All EDM LAB followers surely remember him for the worldwide hit dated 2017, which granted him a nomination for “Best Dance song” at the 2018 Grammy Awards. Of course, we are talking about “Cola,” the collaboration with Camelphat (check out the video of Elderbrook’s performance live in Boston at the Royale below).
Elderbrook’s performance was terrific. We have been following him for a while and were well aware of his talent and versatility. Yet, we were amazed by attending his show in first person.
Elderbrook is a “one-man band.” His show consists of a live music performance in which he plays and sings live. It was impossible not to dance or to sing along. Elderbrook’s energy on stage is contagious; helped by the catchy beats characterized by thick and energetic basslines, every single song was enthusiastically welcomed by those who attended the concert.
Alexander makes it difficult to label his music genre uniquely. Indeed, Elderbrook manages to mix Electronic with House, Country, Soul, Rock, and Gospel music. A perfect blend of Indie and more mainstream genres, showcasing a unique sampling sound technique. But the cherry on the top is given by his flawless vocal ability to harmonize every song as a whole musical journey.
One positive note goes to the mixed audience. Sure, younger supporters were the majority, but many people of different ages were there. This a sign that a diverse pool of people appreciates the artist’s talent.
EDM LAB strongly recommends attending his next stops of the “Little Love Tour.” Check out his next stops on the official website, pre-order his latest album (out on 31 March), and do not forget to follow Elderbrook on social media for more news.
