This year, as mentioned in our article, the Top 100 DJ MAG “came back home.” Its announcement took place once again at the AMF (Amsterdam Music Festival) with a long countdown and the live performance of the winning DJ.
Surprisingly, there was a change in the top spot in this 2024 edition: the new #1 is Martin Garrix! Not many releases from the young Dutch DJ in 2024, but as we appreciate, just a few tracks here and there throughout the year, and a complete focus on live performances. Martin Garrix’s shows are truly breathtaking, and if you’ve never seen one, we absolutely recommend you do so as soon as possible! His win in the Top 100 DJ Mag is also crowned by his latest, much-anticipated release, Gravity, a track we introduced in the Best of Today #Release #279.
It was a tough task to dethrone David Guetta from the top spot on the chart, especially considering the number of tracks released this year by the artists. But as we know, this is a popular vote, meaning it’s based on fan votes. Martin Garrix was awarded by what until a few days ago was held only by the DJ who had won this title five times: Armin Van Buuren. Now, both EDM titans share this record.
