Tomorrowland recently released their documentary Never stop the music – The creation of Tomorrowland 2020, which takes fans behind the scenes of Tomorrowland’s innovative virtual festival “Around The World“. However, recent reports have shown that while the organizers did their best to close plans to sell tickets via the historic stream, the numbers were far from what they hoped.
Despite the disappointing results, however, the industry veterans behind Tomorrowland are moving forward with another streaming company. They have announced that a second Tomorrowland virtual reality festival is in the works for New Year’s Eve.
We believe the digital festival will continue after the live returns,” Tomorrowland’s co-founder Michiel Beers told Billboard. “At the same time, we are confident that we need to create moments at live festivals so that people have a great desire to go to our special live broadcasts and they see them as a small event.”
Tomorrowland also recently made the decision to quietly cancel their winter festival in 2021, which has been pushed back to March 14-21 (we told here).
After the rumor and an unknown countdown, today Tomorrowland announces finally that on the last night of 2020 will be online with a new digital edition festival. New year’s eve with an amazing night with 25 major artists from a new digital landscape in 4 different virtual stages.
The event will be completely adapted to the local time zone and will start from 8 PM on December 31 to 3AM on January 1st, wherever you are, perfect in sync! That is gonna be an amazing event to live with your friends at home. Tickets for event will available from November 17th.
