s we learned, i_o passed away this week. The young and energetic musician passed away in the prime of his creative career. The circumstances and cause of death are still being reported.
His passing was confirmed in a statement via his official social media pages. “On Monday, November 23rd, the world lost a beautiful soul, Garrett Falls Lockhart, also known as i_o,” the statement reads. “This extremely talented spirit taught us that even if nothing matters, you can still lead with love. Garrett’s truth and soul lives on through the music he shared.”
The beloved Washington DC artist who previously performed under the FAWKS alias. He just recently signed to Armada Music release i_o – Castles In The Sky and marked the event “In My Head”, he was previously a coveted artist on mau5trap’s lists. Lockhart, a Los Angeles graduate of ICON Collective, has also released work for Skrillex’s Nest HQ, Dim Mak, and many others.
Deadmau5, on Twitter says: “Going to miss you my dude, it was a real pleasure working with you and watching you succeed… may you find rest, and let your music live on into eternity“.
UK dubstep producer FuntCase added: “Garrett my dude. I had some awesome times with you man, I hope you’re resting well. Say hello to cookie for me”.
In a last Instagram post published by tommiesunshine, he would be explaining many things to us that may indicate the causes of the death of this young and promising techno talent. He tells us that perhaps his death is related to what happened with Avicii and that the DJs should receive a lot of help and support so that things do not happen that affect the lives of the DJs.
His legacy will remain in our hearts and we will always remember by the fans we share some of his hits
